Project

This rental apartment was a great space but with bland magnolia walls (that couldn't be painted) and a cream carpet it made the place feel dull and lifeless. Our client was relocating and wanted us to create a warm, welcoming home with an identity - one where he could relax and entertain after a hard day at work. He needed the entire flat kitting out - from furniture to cooking utensils and everything in between - within a very short time frame so we had our work cut out for us! The overall look though is modern, versatile and homely and when he next moves all the furniture will easily adapt to a new space.

Cosy flat

The stripey orange rug pulls together the warm colour scheme we designed for our client, who asked us to make this bland magnolia space welcoming and cosy. The oversized burnt orange ottoman adds more colour and character into the room and its shape echoes the round table at the end of the room.

Adding warmth & character

A burnt orange huge ottoman (visible in the foreground) from Made adds colour and versatility; providing both seating and doubling up as a coffee table.

Detail

Adding detail such as colourful table mats makes a difference. As our client was relocating and needed absolutely everything purchased for this rental apartment we also needed to provide things such as good quality crockery etc.

Colour co-ordinated

Rental apartments can look bland due to ubiquitous magnolia paint (which you can't change) and white kitchen units. Here we added small kitchen appliances in bright red to add a splash of colour.
